Resources to Help You Find Your Next Job
Michigan Works! One Stop Service Centers are equipped with computers for Internet job search and resume development. Our friendly staff is available to assist individuals who are not familiar with computers. Copiers, telephones, and fax machines are available at no cost for all job search. Use the Pure Michigan Talent Connect
to find hundreds of job openings.
One-Stop Service Centers also provide a variety of resource materials to assist you in finding employment. Videos, books, and workshops provide excellent information on industries that are hiring, interviewing tips, resume and cover letter assistance, and other job search information. Information on training institutions and community service information are also available. These services are available to everyone in the community.
Career Building Assistance
Many people are unsure of how to conduct an effective job search. Long term unemployment, an unsteady economy, and new skill requirements sometimes make for a difficult transition into the next job. Michigan Works! staff is available to assist you in determining a career path, analyze your current job search techniques and strategies and offer advice. Career Developers will assist you in putting together a plan to get you on track for your next career move.

Assessing Your Current Skills
Michigan Works! offers Career and Skill Assessments to help you determine what career may be a good fit for you. Using quality assessments such as WorkKeys, staff will help you determine the careers your skills would best fit or what areas you may want to work on improving.
Michigan Works! provides services to youth and young adults, ages 14 to 21. At no cost to you or your family, Michigan Works! can help you prepare for employment and/or post-secondary education, like college, technical school, or a certificate training. The kind of services that are included in the youth program include tutoring, study skills training, summer employment opportunities, paid and unpaid work experience, leadership development opportunities, adult mentoring, and comprehensive career guidance.
